Your pathway to a job For job seekers accessing Job Services Australia, Disability Employment Services or Get Set For Work your pathway to a job will include: Understanding who you are and what you need – this might involve your Employment or Rehabilitation Consultant working with you on a range of assessments including vocational, skills, functional or psych-social. Developing a Plan to assist you achieve your goal – everyone’s job seeking journey is different and your Plan will assist you and Break Thru in creating a clear pathway to a job. Your Plan will be about identifying your career goals, matching them with your interests, skills and abilities and developing activities that will build your capacity for work. Working with you to start your job search – you will be provided with a professional CV or resume, have access to job search and pre-employment skills training and a wide range of job search resources such as newspapers, internet, photocopiers, faxes and telephones. We will always work in partnership with you in your job search. Our Job Placement services can provide you with direct access to a wide range of jobs listed only with us - giving you a competitive job seeking advantage! |
Starting work – Break Thru may work with you to organise work experience, work trials or voluntary placements that may assist you in acquiring job skills. Other types of support Break Thru can provide in order to get you ready for work might include helping you buy your new uniform, helping with travel expenses or with buying tools/equipment. When you start your job, we will provide you with all the support you need – whether it is simply a phone call every now and again, or working alongside you to provide ongoing on the job training and support. Post Placement Support – for some programs, Break Thru may be able to provide you and your employer with ongoing post placement support for as long as you both need it. We can also keep working with you to develop your career further.
