As a non-profit organisation, we have
been a leader in working with people to find and build promising
careers for over 16 years. We work closely with job seekers
and employers and have continually achieved outstanding results.
Break Thru has a range of programs
including:
> Job Services Australia (JSA)
Job Services Australia is funded by the Department of Education,
Employment and Workplace Relations
(DEEWR) to provide FREE services to job seekers and employers. Job Services Australia provides one
to one or group based assistance in prevocational skilling, overcoming barriers to employment, job
search and limited post placement support for job seekers and a job matching service for employers
with job vacancies.
> Disability Employment Services (DES) operates under two programs:
> Disability Management Service (DMS)
Disability Management Service provides assistance for those job
seekers who are not expected to need regular, long-term support to maintain their job.
Disability Management Services assists job seekers with injuries, a disability or
health condition that substantially reduces their capacity to look for & keep a job.
We combine vocational rehabilitation with specialist employment assistance aimed
specifically at working to increase a job seeker’s functional levels & ultimately,
their participation in a job.
> Employment Support Service (ESS)
Employment Support Services (ESS) provides assistance for job seekers who will need regular
long-term support to maintain their job. Employment Support Services also includes specialist assistance and services
to people with a disability who require ONGOING support to help find and maintain open employment. Our Specialist
staff provides short-term pre-vocational assessment and job seeking, marketing to employers, on-the-job assessment &
support and ongoing support once placed in a job. Disability Employment Service (DES) is also funded by the Department
of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).
> Transition to Work (TTW)
TTW
provides employment and community access support to school leavers with high
support needs. TTW is funded by the NSW Department of Ageing, Disability and
Home Care (DADHC).
> Community Participation (CP)
The Community Participation
program aims to assist young people with a disability to develop the skills they
need to work towards their goals, increase their independence and participate as
valued and active members in the community.
> Get Set for Work (GSFW) Get Set for Work program is funded
by the QLD Department of Employment and Industrial Relations and specifically
targets 15-17 year olds who are early school leavers or who are at risk of
leaving school early. GSFW responds to participants' needs by putting in place
strategies to overcome barriers to employment and further education/training.
The program delivers
pre-vocational training, literacy and numeracy support, job conditioning (eg
routines, nutrition and physical fitness) as well as job search, job placement
and on-the-job support and monitoring.
PLEASE NOTE: GSFW is a program
funded via the QLD government and therefore only available via our Townsville
