It is via the Centre of Excellence, that evidence, research and internal best practice is collected, along with the formation of
collaborative partnerships.
The Centre of Excellence shares this knowledge to facilitate the delivery of high quality employment services within Break
Thru People Solutions and the broader community.
Current Projects:
> Working with Barriers Project - Working in partnership with Sydney University, this project examines the
barriers to employment experienced by job seekers with mental health & drug & alcohol conditions. It aims to
discover new intervention and/or models of vocational rehabilitation and service delivery to improve employment
outcomes.
> Integrated Employment Project - In collaboration with Queensland Health, under the supervision of Dr. Geoff
Waghorn, this project evaluates the effectiveness of integrating people aged 15-59 years with psychiatric
disabilities into the wider community. It will also examine a long term sustainable treatment model to assist those
with a mental illness in their recovery.
> Headspace – In partnership with Central Sydney General Practitioner Network, Headspace explores the
effectiveness of giving young people with mental health issues, access to a collaborative network of community
services.
